I used a cheap cut of meat and half the corporeality called for (beef stew meat--hey, on a tight food budget!) and just a pound which meant a) I had to simmer my meat just a lilliputian longer and b) I doubled the mushrooms so I could fake the actual amount of meat I used. I used dijon mustard and I added a teaspoon each of stale basil and dried oregano. I did NOT add together the extra common salt as there was plenty in the beefiness broth I used. I served this with buttered egg noodles and roasted broccoli. Everyone loved it. In that location'due south only plenty for someone to re-warm for lunch tomorrow. Very proficient.

This is admittedly delicious! The but thing I would modify to brand it a fool-proof dish is to use beef tenderloin for the meat--information technology cooks faster and is always tender. It's worth the actress $$ for special occasions. I didn't happen to have wine on hand, and substituted red wine vinegar for the marinade, and information technology added a overnice tang to the roux. If you're not fond of spicier flavors, it'south fine to omit the ruby pepper. This is gourmet eating--call up to leave a tip for the melt!

My married man raved about this recipe! I did not marinate in cherry wine, and the flavor was great without it. As other reviewers mentioned, I subbed dijon for yellow mustard. Instead of red pepper flakes, I used a pinch of ground cayenne. Also, this recipe tin can be completed with a slow cooker for 4-five hours on low; add together the sauteed mushrooms a half hour before the stop of cooking time. I found that the gravy was a little sparse in the slow cooker, and then added some corn starch just before serving. You will dearest this recipe! The sour cream and foam cheese add the depth of season that makes this stroganoff "rich and creamy." Thanks, sanfrancook.

Oh. My. Give-and-take. Y'all know those recipes that you merely have to effort because they have 3,000+ five-star ratings, and they turn out to be Crawly? This deserves thousands of v-star ratings! I left out the cerise pepper flakes and added the wine with the sauce ingredients instead of marinating. I used 1/2 C. sour foam and iv oz. foam cheese. I served it over Spaetzle noodles imported from Frg. Simple words are inadequate to describe how good this is!

Very tasty and delicious Stroganoff. I used the rest of my Christmas Prime Rib, cut into thin strips instead of the chuck roast recommended. Sauteed the onions, garlic and mushrooms together, fix bated and proceeded with the residue of the recipe, following the directions as written. Just sub I fabricated was using dijon mustard instead of yellow prepared. I served over a hearty home-style egg noodle and heard cipher but mmmm's effectually the table. Thanks for sharing a great and easy recipe. Will make again for certain.

Used a cut of elevation sirloin as that's all I had available without going to the shop for chuck roast. Stroganoff was very creamy and thick, but I found the wine marinade to exist a tad strong and made the "gravy" somewhat sharp even cooking down for the allotted fourth dimension. I'll cutting back on the vino next time and it should be perfect. Very skillful recipe. Thank you for sharing Sanfrancook.
ten/13/2011
Fantabulous recipe. Followed as written, used a bandage iron pan. Volition definitely make again, would exist perfect for company.

Loved it even more before calculation the cream cheese & sour cream... so adjacent time I brand this I'll leave those 2 things out. I made the following variations since I do NOT like tough or chewey meat & didn't want to take a adventure so I did this portion of the recipe using a slow cooker. ... I used a beefiness round roast that I sliced ane/2" thick slices; (I used an inexpensive red wine -Terrenal Cabernet Sauvignon - from trader joe'due south) marinated, pat dry, sear each side in olive oil, and so immediately put into slow cooker, saute onions & garlic in butter, olive oil, splash of wine, pinch of salt.. added to slow cooker along with remaining marinade & all the other liquids & seasonings listed... let cook 3 hours on high. When done, utilise all broth from slow cooker when following directions for "Steps #three..." ... the sauce was creamy & so tastey. Personally, I feel the cream cheese & sour cream are optional when using a tedious cooker for beef. Tip: for noodles, try this recipe: Grandma'due south Butter Noodles by Momofaddy. Delicious!!

All-time recipe I've constitute for Stroganoff! I used white vino instead of carmine and next fourth dimension I'll cutting the crushed red pepper in half. We dear some spice just this was a little also much for us.
07/15/2012
We've made this a couple times now. The first time the spice was overpowering, and this concluding fourth dimension the flavor was just bad. The meat had no flavor, and the gravy just wasn't good.

Definitely 5-star! I've never been a huge fan of stroganoff--it was e'er something my mom made as something to do with leftover Sunday roast, and so I have used it the same mode. And, for me, information technology'southward always been somewhat "wearisome." But this? Wow...I simply made information technology with some leftover meat and my husband and I were practically licking our plates! I can't wait to brand it fresh, with all fresh ingredients. I likewise used canned mushrooms 'crusade that'due south all I hand on hand. If this only gets better with fresh, marinated beef as well as fresh mushrooms I CAN'T WAIT to make information technology again. Give thanks y'all very much for this recipe SanFranCook!

There are And then MANY ways to vary this recipe, that I can't even begin to put it all downwards. We accept eaten this recipe in some form at to the lowest degree twice a month since I found information technology about a twelvemonth ago. The original recipe is very practiced, but you can practise it however you want and I promise, you CAN'T mess information technology up. --I Always add the cream cheese and sour cream before I add together the meat dorsum and I always utilise basis beef (way cheaper to feed our family). Things to endeavor that we have washed and LOVED every time: --Don't have wine? No problem, just don't use information technology and add a wee bit more Worcestershire....Still tastes crawly! --Spicy Brown mustard substituted for xanthous and 3x every bit much! --Besides thick? Just add more beef broth! --Don't take beef broth on paw? But utilise beef bullion and water.... Tin can't tell the difference. My hubby admittedly loves this stuff and when I say "Stroganoff Nighttime!", he really talks about how much he loves my stroganoff the ENTIRE fourth dimension until it is done! P.S. This entire meal can exist made in less than an hr if demand exist. I never simmer for an hr at the end. Just get meat cooked (10-xv mins for ground beef), cook down onions and mushrooms together (5-10 mins), get the sauce part all mixed up (20 mins max) and add together meat dorsum in, simmer while wide egg noodles eddy (10-12 mins), and presto! Dinner in an hour! :)
10/26/2011
This was the all-time stroganoff I've always made....my husband called information technology "absolutely delicious"! The only thing I did not really like was the flavor the meat took on from marinating in vino; next fourth dimension I will not marinate meat, simply will add together the wine to the sauce...it gives the sauce some depth.
09/ten/2012
All-time beefiness stroganoff always! I did a couple things differently. I did not marinade the beef and I browned in a dutch oven in three batches. I added the mushrooms with the onion and garlic and left them in the pot. Instead of simmering on the stove, I covered and braised in 325 oven for i hour forty minutes. Very skillful!

SOOOO GOOD! I'm 19 years old and just moved out into my ain apartment. I havn't cooked very many meals simply figured I'd give this a shot. I followed the recipe and it turned out amazing! Everybody liked information technology, even my boyfriend who was a scrap sceptical told me to go far again! I found the gravy to be a chip also thick, so I added more beef broth to thin it out until I got the desired consistency. As well, the recipe says it serves eight. I served 4 people with this and we were scraping the lesser of the pan, and so I don't know how anyone could feed 8 with this! Other than that, it was a delicious recipe and I will be making it once more for sure :)
02/27/2012
WOW, this was yummy! Pretty much followed the recipe exactly, except that I was talking on the phone and added a little too much flour which meant more goop. Didn't intendance though, the gravy is amazing!! Cheers for a great "first" for me!!
02/24/2012
This recipe is FANTASTIC. You can utilise basis beef and leave out the 1hr simmer. I used sherry in the identify of red wine and cooked the mushrooms (doubled them- I had alot) a couple of minutes after I put in the onions. Also used margarine instead of butter, Fat costless plain yogurt instead of sour cream, and FF foam cheese. So good!!
02/01/2012
Very tasty. Only had 1lb. of basis beef so I used that and doubled the mushrooms to compensate. Nonetheless used the red vino, but not as a marinade, simply straight into the sauce. Reduced the ruddy pepper flakes. Added oregano and basil, may have used a footling extra foam cheese. Served over elbow macaroni.
03/11/2012
Very, very good. A piddling chip of piece of work, but well worth information technology. I ended up making two changes: one out of necessity and one out of frugality. I substituted white wine for the called-for ruby-red in the marinade ... because I didn't take whatever red wine in the firm (or at least none that i wanted to open up for the amount needed for the marinade). I suspect the outcome would have been *slightly* meliorate, had I used cherry vino. The other change I made was to employ the "remaining grease" from the browned beef instead of the called-for beef broth. The "grease" was largely very valuable beef essence; it would accept been criminal to pour it downwardly the bleed and open a can of commercial broth! In whatever event the final result was a very tasty contribution to a potluck terminal nighttime. The crushed red pepper added merely the right amount of zing. Don't go out it out (I used the minimum amount)! I poured the completed stroganoff over a pot of buttered egg noodles in a covered casserole and hitting the road! Yum!
11/26/2012
A M A Z I North M! Loved this one. Will definitely make again. I followed exactly and it was perfection. A fiddling warning though, I love spicy, I mean LOVE, and it has a kick... that I love, but for those who don't, you might desire to go light on the cherry pepper flakes.
11/15/2011
This recipe was really practiced. I only fried the beefiness in a skillet and mixed in all the ingridients without pre-frying or marinating and it tasted dandy :) And instead of melting butter and adding flour, I cooked the meat in the broth. In that location was no need for a thicker gravy I recollect :)
08/15/2012
Finally - the perfect stroganoff recipe!! I didn't accept cream cheese, and and then I omitted it and bumped upwards the sour cream, and information technology was wonderful.
08/09/2012
I accept never made Stroganoff earlier, only I was and then pleased with the outcome of this recipe. My husband was total merely kept eating. It was truly delightful! One thing that I did incorrect was that the meat did not stay tender. Maybe that's normal. If anyone has whatever suggestions please let me know. I volition exist making this again.
12/21/2011
This was yummy! To be fair, I did change it a chip. I used beefiness shank bones simmered for several hours, shredded the meat and used the broth in the recipe. I also used a piffling extra goop and milk to thin the sauce. I used white wine instead of cherry-red, since I prefer the flavor. I cut back on the red pepper flakes and in that location was still a flake of kick, even with approximately 1 tsp. I also added 1 Tbsp of red wine vinegar. There is no need to follow the instructions quite so closely. I only cooked the meat, cooked the veggies together, made the sauce and threw everything together! It was really good and this will be my standard recipe from now on!
12/28/2011
This is an example of how to apply leftover prime number rib and also lasagna noodles. I started the recipe with the sauteeing of the garlic and the shallots I used in identify of the onion. I also used less cherry-red pepper flakes. Otherwise I made this according to the instructions. It was succulent. Thank you for a wonderful recipe.
xi/02/2012
Perfect!
12/05/2011
This was excellent! I was likewise tired last dark to measure everything but i put all the ingredients in with a general thought of measurements. It was seriously fantastic! Good bulky sense of taste my hubby prefers with his Stronganoff. Cheers!
11/01/2011
VERY VERY VERY YUMMY!!!! The flavor of this recipe is awesome ~ my four-yr-old is even enjoying it! I didn't change a matter in the recipe...made it every bit written (with the the exception that I forgot to save the marinade, so used fresh ruddy wine instead of the marinade toward the end). Nonetheless turned out fantastic! Thanks FOR THIS RECIPE! **Update** Forgot to mention I OMITTED the crimson pepper flakes from this recipe...my four twelvemonth old isn't not bad on annihilation even slightly spicy. Turned out bang-up even without them!!!
12/24/2011
EXCELLENT!!! Used a apartment Iron Roast, simply followed the recipe otherwise. Definitely a keeper!
02/22/2015
Husband challenged me to make beef stroganoff, plant this recipe and tried it! Loved information technology! Afterwards browning the meat, I put the meat and juice in the bowl and later incorporated it dorsum in. Used dijon mustard for xanthous, and finely chopped most of the mushrooms since my 5 yr onetime won't swallow the slices! Made this twice and thinking adjacent time might attempt information technology in the crock pot. Thank you for this succulent recipe!
03/01/2015
So, and so proficient! I used white wine instead of cherry, left out the blood-red pepper, and used cornstarch instead of flour since ane of my dinner guests is gluten intolerant, and it was a huge hitting. (Plain over rice instead of noodles.)
x/07/2012
Thanks SanFran! I didn't modify a thing, it was super. I have trouble with roux sometimes, so the iv minutes was perfect. My house smelled like heaven.
09/20/2013
Adapted this to make a mushroom stroganoff. I used a 12 oz pkg. cremini mushrooms, sour cream, tsp. dijon mustard, 4 reg. sized cloves of garlic, red wine, worcestershire sauce, one shallot, 2 light-green onions, and fresh parsley. Served it over egg noodles. DELICIOUS
12/05/2011
VERY good!!! I didn't have onion so I used green onion instead. Combined a lot of ingredients together and only simmered 20 minutes (but I used serlion steak instead) turned out Amazing!!!
03/21/2015
crawly with some modifications. I found I needed to add more wine and more than broth. Less cream cheese and more sour cream. yum.
07/xvi/2012
OH MY! This was super flavorful, a piffling fleck different than the ordinary stroganoff and really hearty! Employ whatsoever cut of meat you want, simply if you go with the cheaper cuts, just be sure to allow enough cooking time to insure the meat is tender. This ane's a definite keeper... even picky husband was impressed!
02/07/2015
Admittedly fabled. Marinated steaks in red vino for four hours. Other than that, didn't change a matter Dinner club loved information technology & it was and then easy.
05/03/2012
This was THE best stroganoff I've always had and I didn't even get in right. 1st I fabricated information technology with some ground turkey I had on manus. It wasn't saucy enough and I was rushed then I just added broth until I got it the consistency I wanted. Next time will add together more of the other sauce elements also. I also used reddish wine vinegar as I had no wine on manus, and chicken broth because it was what I had and I ended upwardly forgetting to add the pepper flakes (I'll add together them next time). The vinegar, mustard and Worcestershire melded to a very nice distinct flavor. I volition definitely exist making this one again. Update: This is still my goto stroganoff recipe (so much better when done right). It's some piece of work but sooo worth information technology the fam loves it. do yourself a favor and try it at least one time.
11/09/2014
My married man loved this recipe! I changed information technology equally I wanted to work with what I had on mitt. Instead of making the mushrooms in the pan with flour, I used a can of cream of mushroom soup as a short cut. I used the beef bouillon and added to water. My husband is a bit picky almost spice then I cut back a little on the red pepper flakes merely he loved it so much that side by side time I will employ the full corporeality. I think that I volition likewise use larger cuts of beef and melt a bit longer for tenderness. All in all it was very delicious!
12/06/2012
This recipe simply didn't work out besides well for me. The sauce was initially too thick, I somewhen added water and it thinned out. The sauce was really proficient before the cream cheese and sour foam. The meat just never got tender. I simmered for 2 hours and it was all the same tough. I did not like the sense of taste of the cream cheese. The consistency was really skilful with the foam cheese only the gustation was non to my liking. Next time I would use a better cutting of meat, double the sour cream and skip the cream cheese. Then it could be exceptional.
08/ten/2012
This was just the recipe nosotros'd been looking for! I used the chuck as suggested by the original recipe and it was enough tender. I likewise followed other user'southward suggestions and had marinaded it in cherry wine, though I think adjacent time I'thou going to follow the original with white vino to see the difference. I besides added 2 tbsp garlic and fresh mushrooms when sauteeing the onions, and then added i/iii cup of cream cheese when I added the sour cream at the end of the cooking time. The whole family loved it! There weren't fifty-fifty any leftovers!
11/18/2011
Fantastic! I've tried more than a few stroganoff recipes and this one is by far the all-time!
09/06/2012
Exceptional! I'd give ten stars if I could. Takes a little time but well worth information technology. I used red wine instead of h2o and Wow! Soooo goood! A keeper.
03/09/2019
Calls for fashion to much cherry pepper flakes
04/05/2017
Very adept! My husband really enjoyed this and it was great on a common cold winter solar day. The simply thing I did differently is saute the mushrooms and onions together and then added the beefiness (without patting it dry) I incertitude information technology made any difference in the results. Very tender - I served with brown rice. Delicious as a leftover as well.
09/21/2012
Right off the bat....I subbed. I used ground beef in place of the roast so I didn't marinate, obviously. I used only plenty carmine pepper flakes to give it a tiny kick(maybe a pinch). Nosotros thought this was very good merely I already apply sour cream & cream cheese w/a can of cream of mushroom soup for my reg stroganoff & I didn't find this anymore flavorful or unlike at all. I call back I'll stick to the easier version(mine) but if you're cutting pre-pkg'd foods out of your diet, this one'due south for you!!
12/30/2011
Wow! Dee-lish! This does pack a piffling punch, and though I similar it, I will pull dorsum to 1 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes, next time. I used one pound of meat, but kept the sauce as written, then there would be lots of yummy sauce for our egg noodles. Served with steamed broccoli for dissimilarity in simplicity and beautiful color on the plate. Thanks for the recipe!
06/08/2013
Actually, really nice stroganoff. I did knock off i star for the recipe as written as there is no mode I would use 2t of red pepper flakes. I used a i/2t and you could still feel the rut. Didn't have any cream cheese, but information technology was simply fine using just sour cream. I would also recommend adding some herbs, like thyme, rosemary and parsley.
01/11/2015
This has to exist the very all-time beef stroganoff I have ever made. The creaminess is outstanding. My husband raved most it with every seize with teeth he took. He's not a big fan of cream cheese and then I waited till the end to tell him that it was so flossy because of the sour cream and cream cheese. Will definitely brand once again and information technology's the only beef stroganoff recipe I volition apply.
10/22/2014
Overall very proficient! This was my beginning time making Beef Stroganoff, and it was an easy recipe to follow. I did everything per the recipe except for 2 things. I used virtually i/2 the beefiness (and so glad I did) and 1/2 the red pepper flakes (besides glad I did). My husband said it was still a little too spicy for him, though I was okay with it. Giving this a 4 stars based on those 2 things, and when I brand again, volition employ a higher quality beef. Information technology did get tender with this cooking, merely nosotros like the texture of higher quality. The flavor was neat! Heads up this does take awhile to melt, cutting the meat was the most time consuming and labor-some. I definitely recommend it and accommodate the recipe to your liking.
02/01/2012
This recipe is succulent, although I practise recall it takes a lot of prep time. I forgot to put the sour cream and foam cheese in, and information technology was still delicious. I put them in the left overs the next day, and think its meliorate without. MUCH less fat too!
02/sixteen/2015
Holy moo-cow, we made 1 substitution plain greek yogurt for sour foam well and used five cloves of garlic but I'thousand sure either style it didn't make a deviation. What a fantastic recipe. Dear love love information technology! Can't wait to make it again. No leftovers because everyone overate!
01/21/2012
reduced red pepper to 1/4 tsp. Outburst to my flavor buds! Will make once more
10/28/2012
OMG this was amazing. So creamy and hearty. We followed other reviewers' advice and cutting back on the crushed red pepper - we gave the skillet 2 good shakes from the dispenser, and it turned out just right. Nosotros besides substituted dijon mustard for the prepared mustard. Followed the residual of the recipe just equally written, using a cast iron skillet. Just exist sure to watch it while it'due south simmering - ours started to burn to the bottom of the skillet. Nosotros served it over egg noodles and topped with breadcrumbs, with a piddling of the Pinot Noir we used for the marinade. SO good.
12/18/2011
My family loved this meal. The flavour was wonderful. Nosotros used a summit cut of beef and think this was important.
02/22/2012
very good, merely VERY fattening. I would suggest using only a spray of olive oil for all the sautéing instead of all that butter, and low fat or fatty free sour cream and cream cheese. Likewise…2 tsp of ruby-red pepper flakes is mode too much. I used one and it was still a chip too hot. And I similar spicy food for the virtually part.
12/18/2011
Fantabulous I wouldn't change a affair.
05/eleven/2012
I made this exactly equally written. It takes fourth dimension, but the layering of flavors was very enjoyable. The merely affair I would do adjacent time is reduce the amount of red pepper flakes - merely our taste. Otherwise, would highly recommend. Thanks for the submission!
01/22/2012
I don't why I never thought to put mustard and worchestire in stroganoff so when I saw this I was excited to try it. Very expert. I used cayenne pepper for the kick and that was a surprise. This was good but not v stars. I can't put my finger on it, maybe it'south the cream cheese. I've never put cream cheese in stroganoff. All in all, it's a good staple to have in your arsenal.
05/02/2015
Beef chuck was tough. It needed to cook a couple more hours before it would have been tender. Would also cut the crimson pepper flakes, as it was quite spicy. Definitely apply a amend cutting of meat.
02/07/2012
This is a nifty recipe!! I left out the cherry-red pepper flakes as it didn't seem right for stroganoff to be hot/spicy. And so added about a clove more than garlic, a teaspoon of dried crushed thyme and a tablespoon of parsley. This will become a staple in my household. My family doesn't similar mushrooms, so I had to omit those, but information technology was even so wonderful.
04/02/2012
This was the best beef stroganoff I have always had!!! The ingredients were and so flavorful and the measurements were spot on. The merely thing I did differently was I used skirt steak. I detect the chuck steak to be too tough when information technology cooks in the sauce for that long, so I seared information technology, and then added it in at the terminate for like 10 minutes to heat through. The meat was very tender and the sauce was admittedly delicious!!!
12/14/2019
One of the all-time things I have e'er put in my oral fissure! This will exist a regular make in my firm hold!
12/22/2011
I doubled the recipe for a holiday potluck at work and it disappeared and so fast I barely got a gustation of it. Didn't change the recipe at all, and it was delicious!
12/15/2011
One of my fav versions of stroganoff. Very rich...
03/04/2012
Followed this recipe exactly and thoroughly loved it. I thought maybe ii t. of pepper flakes would be too much but my hubby said it was fine. The just thing negative I could say would be I don't know how this would feed 8. Seems to me probably four people but I gauge that would depend on the serving size. I would definitely make this again.
07/19/2012
Amazeballs!!! I Will omit the crushed reddish peppers completely next fourth dimension. Family idea it was fashion too hot when their mouths were burning. Without the crushed cherry-red peppers this is "5 star dining" all the style!!!
01/18/2012
Very good. I was afraid of the pepper flakes and only used 1/2 t. Nonetheless had a slight kick. I think side by side time I will omit them entirely. I like spicy food just not spicy stroganoff.
11/12/2011
I havent' even finished cooking this dish nevertheless and tin can already tell you it's amazing! I added a little extra garlic, only because I love garlic.
08/sixteen/2012
YUMMY!!!
01/02/2012
My family unit of 7 LOVED this meal. I cutting the red pepper in half, and my younger children still idea information technology was as well spicy so next time I will just use a 1/4 of the cherry pepper. The rest of us loved information technology with one-half though. I also used stew meat instead of roast.
01/23/2012
yummy, all I had were depression fatty sour foam and foam cheese which were a little sweet so to counter act that I used a couple tablespoons of buttermilk. Perfect!! My picky teen ate enough for another teen!!!!
03/09/2019
I made this for the second time this weekend and liked it much better than last! Added more mushrooms and cutting the pepper flakes in one-half. Used some sirloin I'd gotten on sale and permit it sit in the marinade well-nigh of the day. It was good last fourth dimension--this time it was wonderful!!!
09/08/2019
Great gustation, merely it was a bit banal. Needed more salt and pepper, and by using a heavier red wine, letting the meat sort of marinate in the vino longer than x mins. ( More as 45 min. to i hour). Turned out great. Used chuck roast with plenty of marbling. The wine bankrupt downward the toughness. Volition utilise this recipe again.
02/07/2012
This was splendid! I fabricated the recipe as written. I thought it was perfect. 1 of the kids thought information technology was too spicy. I'm certain it would even so be good with half the pepper.
02/15/2015
I saw the 5 star rating and had to endeavour information technology. Delicious! I followed directions just threw in some broccoli I needed to apply up. Soo good!
03/05/2019
Actually loved this recipe. I changed a few things. I used a roast that I cutting into 1/ii' strips and marinated the meat with a Cabernet Sauvignon for 3 three hours. I did not pat the meat dry prior to lightly browning information technology in the olive oil. I and so sauteed the onions and garlic in the butter and later added the mushrooms with. I removed this and melted the butter and added the flour and made the roux. When this was cooked added the onions, mushrooms, garlic, meat back along with all the other ingredients except the cheese and sour cream. Simmered it on the stove for about an hour then added the cream and cheese. It had a wonderful season from the Cab. Will be making this over again. Thanks for the recipe.
03/16/2013
AWESOME!!! The best Beef Stroganoff recipe I have always made and I've made a few. I hold though with one of the comments that 2 tsp of red pepper flakes is a petty to much. I am adding this to my repertoire.
08/fifteen/2015
Everything was fine until I put pretty much everything in the pan to let it simmer for an hour. I followed all the directions perfectly and when information technology said to cover and simmer for an hour I had my doubts considering I thought it would burn since it never said to stir. But I wanted to follow all of the directions perfectly so I left it in the pan. I came back 15 minutes later and it looked good. I couldn't expect until it was done. I came back 20 minutes subsequently and the whole matter was burned. I was deplorable and it was very hard to scrub. I saved a few pieces of the meat and they were very tasty just the directions never said to stir. When you brand this I very much recommend that y'all stir it.
08/14/2013
I was taught to make stroganoff with a packet. However, I didn't have the packet and needed it on the fly. This was amazing. My hubby even promised a back massage for it. Thank you!!
11/08/2015
Slow and lacks season!!! Followed receive exactly.
09/07/2012
OUTSTANDING. Made precisely as the recipe called. The best Stroganoff I've ever had. Loved information technology, loved information technology, loved it.
01/21/2014
This is my new favorite Beefiness Stroganoff recipe! I was a footling bitter nearly having to share my wine, just it was totally worth information technology. I didn't utilize red pepper flakes, considering my kid hates spicy. Just a wonderful dish.
10/21/2013
I followed directions and I didn't similar the taste of it. I think it was the red wine flavor. I won't make again.
03/04/2012
Fabricated this last night and information technology was lush!!! Even my finiky kids ate it upwards.

This Recipe Was Delicious But I Couldn't Eat Much Or Feed Information technology To MY Child With The Pepper Flakes Without The Red Pepper Flakes This Would BE The Best Beef Stroganoff Ive Had.

This was just OK. I didn't recollect the time involved=how I astounding I thought it would sense of taste. Followed exactly. Don't know what I would modify but volition probably not endeavour again.

Loved this recipe! So easy, I had 99% of the ingredients in my fridge which is what I love in a new recipe! Is at that place anything worse than having to buy things you never really need more a small amount of?! I used a roast that I had in the freezer, we cut up our roasts from Costco to make them stretch further. This was the little guy so it was perfect. Did everything exactly every bit mentioned and served over egg noodles. We skipped on the mushrooms since we have a picky eater in the firm. Has anyone tried to freeze this recipe? I wonder if I make a batch (excluding the sr.cream and crm.cheese) then put it in the crock pot at noon. Let me know if anyone has tried that! Thanks for the recipe! I promise more than people try this one out!!!

This recipe is succulent! I had been wanting to make a stroganoff from scratch and decided on this recipe. The only change I made was leaving out the mushrooms considering my husband and I don't really similar them. We loved the flavor and the spice the blood-red pepper flakes gave! My married man said he could odour this cooking exterior while he was doing yardwork and information technology fabricated his mouth water. He was very happy information technology was coming from OUR kitchen when he came in for dinner! I will definitely be making this recipe again. :)

I cutting the cubed beef in half.. about i.five lb's. I forgot to add the sour cream and cream cheese (kids were very distracting) and used mixed veggies instead of mushrooms on a bed of veggie pasta. It was crawly, outset fourth dimension making Beef Stroganoff!

Crawly! I just inverse a few things. I used 2lbs of stew meat since that is what I had. I added an boosted 1/two cup of water since I knew my meat needed to melt for 2 hrs to get tender. I added 1/2 tsp of Tarragon and reduced the Crushed Red pepper past half since my kids haven't quite gotten their spicy side still. Cooked on cook peak for ii hrs and information technology was astonishing. I did not add together foam cheese. Will definately make this again to use upwards my stew meat. Thanks for the recipe!

This is a very adept recipe and has very adept flavor. I had left over beef roast with the juices it produced while in the crock pot and wanted a recipe I could use that in. This worked out perfectly. My meat was not marinated commencement and I don't like to review recipes if not made exactly but I thought information technology was a small plenty modify to warrant the review since I felt information technology was a very good recipe. I likewise added one/2 tsp pepper flakes instead of the full 2 (from the nutrient co-op which I often find I need less than if I bought information technology from the grocery store). I don't like things overly spicy. I wasn't sure that little would have whatsoever effect on it merely it did and it was perfect for us. My hubby idea it was a piddling thick (could take been that I thickened it too much) then I added some milk to thin it some and it didn't modify the flavour at all. I liked it both ways, thick or thin. I am not a big stroganoff fan (could be considering I commonly have the cream of mushroom soup kind) only I actually looked forrard to the leftovers the next day. The guys said it was a keeper and I should brand it again.

Yum! Used Dijon and reduced cherry pepper and added more fresh ground black pepper. Served with buttered broad egg noodles and parsley.

I did this in the slow cooker (add sour cream and mushrooms for the last half 60 minutes) and information technology was a big striking fifty-fifty with my pickiest eater. When I made information technology once again I will decrease or omit the mustard. That flavor was a trivial too strong for our family. I also decreased the pepper flakes for the kids.

I idea information technology was excellant. I have made it before with cream cheese and it does brand information technology and so creamy

Followed recipe, but institute information technology to be likewise bland.

too rich for my taste. would be perfect without cream cheese and with lite sour foam. going to go the easy route next time and apply ground beefiness

Yes, great recipe! As ever I added my own twists - Doubled it because we (family of v) didn't take enough as anybody wanted second plates on the beginning round typhoon! All the same, from original recipe, I doubled the mushrooms, added well-nigh 1/iv cup cream, i/8 loving cup cooking sherry and 1 more Tbsp Worcestershire. Also, used pancake mix instead of flour. Succulent!

Perfect recipe for hearty stroganoff. I use sirloin steak rather than chuck & simply near one.5 lbs simply 1 lb of mushrooms as we prefer a lot of mushrooms. I use a decent/adept Cabernet wine for the marinate/stock & it makes all the difference.
